Spokane Riverfront Park Winter Blanket

Spokane Riverfront Park Winter Blanket

This scene took place after a fresh snowfall on the Riverfront Park in Spokane, WA. The city lights reflection off the low clouds gives a surreal feel to the scene. The snow covered steps on the left lead to the civic center. The Clock Tower is part of the former Great Northern Depot. The park was the site of the 1974 World’s Fair Exposition. I attended the fair and listened to a Caribbean steel drum band on the floating platform now covered with snow. The top part of the American Pavilion can be seen just above the tree line on the right that now adorns the Ice Palace outdoor seasonal ice skating rink. This is a cropped version from the panoramic view just showing the dock and clock tower. A panoramic version of this photo will be found in the Panoramic Images Gallery.
