Thirsty Bush

In the Central and Eastern Oregon areas of the high desert there are some places so arid that they don’t receive enough rainfall to sustain foliage. The Alvord Desert in the southeastern part Oregon is one of these areas. It lies along the eastern edge of the Steens Mountains. This photo depicts a sagebrush that wasn’t able to receive enough water to sustain its life. A part of the Steens Mountains is in the background.
