Bass Harbor Lighthouse Storm

Bass Harbor Lighthouse Storm

Along the rocky rugged Maine coastline is this iconic 32-foot Bass Harbor Lighthouse, built in 1858. This is a view as the fog lifts to reveal the storm clouds rolling in from the west. It seems a little strange to talk about a storm coming in from the west across the ocean at a lighthouse located on the east coast of the USA, but there are many peninsulas in Maine where this is exactly what happens. It sits on the edge of an old glacier worn rock face where the glacier dropped the rock debris as it receded. It is on the most southern tip of the Acadia National Park. There will be two color sunset versions from a different vantage point located in the Coastal, Harbor & Lighthouse folder, vertical and horizontal formats.
